Be Kind to Your Mind - the BOOK!

I can’t quite believe we are finally here!! The time has come to share with you what I have been working on for so long - and I can’t wait to hear what you get from it!

‘Be Kind to Your Mind’ is a book for everyone - no matter where you sit on the mental wellness spectrum, regardless of age, or whether or not you come from a faith tradition. Whether you know heaps about mental health, or brain science is new to you, whether you deal with personal challenges, or you support someone else who does - I have intentionally created this resource to cast a wide net and include as many readers as I can.

I do recommend reading with a highlighter in one hand and a pen in the other. It’s an interactive resource that invites you to come along on the journey and tell your own story as you share in mine.

Decades of teaching and stage experience have taught me how to tackle big, complicated concepts, and break them down into bite-sized chunks.  Whether those chunks are made of stories, metaphors, fun explanations or songs, each chunk conveys a piece of researched information, blended with honest lived experience, and a chance for you to reflect.

I have put my heart and soul into this book as it’s grown and developed with me over years, right up until this week as I’ve added the finishing touches.

It cuts close to the bone at times, while I have been careful to tell my own story without infringing on others, I have laid it all out on the table.

I am both excited and nervous to share it with the public. While I remind myself that the harshest of critics are usually those who have not taken the risk to bare their heart for the benefit of others, releasing creative work in any form is a vulnerable proposition.

To the literally hundreds of thousands of people I have had the privilege of influencing over the years through my work and ministry, thank you for walking alongside me. Thank you for supporting me, cheering me on and letting me know how what I have brought to the table has helped bring about positive change in your worlds.

As you read my book, you’ll probably laugh, you’ll possibly cry, but you will definitely learn more about how to Be Kind to Your Mind.

Ki te ingoa, o te Matua, o te Tama, o te Wairua Tapu, Āmine
